Amin Pourbarghi, is an Iranian-Canadian director and screenwriter born in 1991 in Iran.
He developed an interest in cinema with his first appearance in a short film at the age of 9. At 16, his artistic career took off with the release of his first short film, Sing and Dance.
With his short documentary Hailstone’s Dance, he participated in various international festivals, gaining valuable experience. Additionally, by making his short film Gold Star, he took significant steps in producing international works.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Cinema from Soureh University in Iran. Pursued by a Master’s in Cinema Directing at the University of Vienna in 2015.
During these years, he directed several short films and documentaries, some of which won awards at various festivals. In addition to filmmaking, he has gained extensive experience working at TV stations, photography, writing, editing, and occasionally teaching.
